Honey be

There are moments in life when we react like the honeybee —quick, sharp, instinctive. When something threatens us, we tighten, we defend, we sting. Not because we want to cause harm, but because some ancient part of us still remembers how to survive.

And in that rush to protect ourselves, we sometimes leave pieces of who we are behind.

But the honeybee doesn’t stay forever in the moment of defense. She turns —slowly, deliberately— as if tracing an invisible circle back to herself. She gathers what is still hers. She loosens what fear has clenched. She returns.
