Ondeante

Sometimes a symbol reminds us of what endures;
of the dreams we keep raising, even when the wind changes.

“Waving”: a reflection on identity, resilience, and quiet strength.

Waving

Waving,
you dress yourself in the sky,
defiant against the fleeting days.
Serene, you move through the world’s haste,
unhurried by the ticking turn signal
that pushes everything forward.

You draw the eye, almost magically,
no matter the restless street,
its walls shouting ads that sell weapons.
Pedestrians, lights, and cars in line
disappear from sight.

At times, I feel like you:
weightless, dancing beyond it all,
a symbol of generations,
of purpose shared,
of countless untold stories.

Born of sea, of wind, of earth and stars,
we were made to carry origins within us.
We have been banners, passion, and flame.
And though time may pale
the colors running through our veins,
still we rise to honor strength,
to lift the dreams once spun,
delicately, from hope.

  1. Melanie> I feel the same; freedom feels distant these days, it comes and goes…It is like a waving: it could be an awakening, a salute, or a goodbye for the loss of meaning or original purpose. Thank you for your hug/comment.
